Corporate Developments
Zicom Group Ltd is a result of a merger between Australian public listed Zicom
Australia Ltd and privately owned Singapore based Zicom Holdings Pte Ltd on 1
July 2006. ZAL was first listed with the Australian Stock Exchange in 1970.
ZHPL first commenced business in 1978. The Group has a direct presence in
Singapore, Australia, Thailand, China, and Indonesia and is continuously
looking into new opportunities. The corporate developments of the group are
enumerated below.

1990 to 1999 |
1994 - ZHPL acquired substantial interest in Zicom Australia Ltd (ZAL) now
known as Zicom Group Ltd (ZGL).
1996 - ZGL’s wholly-owned subsidiary Cesco Australia Ltd (CAL) acquired the
“Vulcan” concrete mixer business from Rheem Australia Ltd, a subsidiary of
Southcorp Holdings. |
2000 onwards

CAL merged its business with Forbes Engineering Holdings Australia Pty Ltd and
operated as CAL.

ZAL merged with ZHPL to form ZGL. |

Developments of ZHPL
1978 to 1989 |
Zicom Private Ltd (ZPL) and Zicom Equipment Pte Ltd (ZEP) were set up in 1978.
ZPL focused on manufacture of deck machinery. ZEP focused on the supply of
offshore exploration and production hardware.
1994 - Zicom Thai Hydraulics Co Ltd was set up in Thailand to market and
service the “Vulcan” transit concrete mixers.
1996 - Set up wholly-owned subsidiary in China initially in Beijing. Now it is
based in Hangzhou under the name of Hangzhou Cesco Machinery is located in
Hangzhou, with main activity in concrete mixers. |
1990 to 1999 |
Achieved breakthrough in the manufacture of deck machinery exceeding 100 tons
pull.
Zicom Cesco Thai Co Ltd was formed to manufacture transit concrete mixers and
bought a factory.
Acquired controlling stake in Hydraquip Pte Ltd which has been renamed
Foundation Associates Engineering Pte Ltd (FAE), now a wholly owned subsidiary.

2000 onwards
|
2004 - Formed JV with Singapore Polytechnic under SP Zicom Pte Ltd to own
rights on concrete reclaimer.
2005 - Merged the business of Hydraquip and Foundation & Associate Pte Ltd
(FA). FAE focused on engineering and manufacturing of foundation equipment. FA
focused on rental of equipment.
2006 – Acquired 51% of Sys-Mac Automation Engineering Pte Ltd (SMAE) a
precision and automation engineering company. |

Developments of Enlarged Group
2006
|
ZAL and ZHPL merged on a reverse take over by ZHPL shareholders. ZAL renamed as
ZGL and resumed trading on the Australian Stock Exchange on 6 September 2006.
ZHPL was ranked and awarded as one of the top E50 most enterprising private
companies in Singapore. |
2007
|
SMAE formed a joint venture with Missouri Tooling and Automation Inc (“MTA”)
under the name MTA Sys-Mac Automation Pte Ltd for undertaking turnkey
automation projects.
FAE formed a joint venture company, FAV Equipment FZC in Sharjah, United Arab
Emirates to lease and sell foundation equipment in the United Arab Emirates.
Awarded Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) incentives to set up Zicom Cesco
Engineering Co Ltd (ZCE) to operate as a manufacturing hub for concrete mixers
in Thailand.

2008 |
Assumed direct distribution and servicing of our concrete mixers in New South
Wales through a reactivated wholly owned subsidiary, Cesco Davcron Engineering
Pty Ltd (CDE).
ZCE commenced factory construction on a 20,000m2 site in the Chonburi Amata
Nakorn Industrial Estate.
ZPL completed new factory at 9 Tuas Avenue 9 for heavy duty deck machinery.
SMAE relocated to new factory at Spectrum I, Woodlands, doubling its production
floor area.
